Vote and Pray for our State and Nation

“For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.” (2 Corinthians 10:3)

Well, all year you have read and heard me discuss all the issues and great battles we face here in Washington State and across our great nation — issues that affect each one of us, our families, and the communities we live and work in. All of you understand, at the end of the day, who we fight for, and what we fight against.

It has not been enjoyable this past year if one is serious about one’s faith. Some of you may have also experienced the hate and ugly insults directed at you. Christians are now the “deplorables” in America, “clinging to our Bibles” and to our faithful understanding of marriage, life, family, and justice. So be it! We are in good company.

“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matt 5:11)

My plea today is to make sure you vote. Please fill out your mail in ballot if you have not already done so. It will take only ten minutes of your time. Then make sure you get it in to the post office or a ballot drop box located near you before 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lastly, and most importantly, get together, individually or as a family tonight and pray to our Father in Heaven. Pray that we elect leaders that will serve God, and our state and nation well.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16)

God listens to our prayers. No matter the results we desire for tomorrow, we know certainly that God is in control, and we are part of His plan. Good will triumph over evil, and God will protect us, and our state and nation.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  (Jeremiah 29:11)

The Family Policy Institute of Washington will continue to be a part of this struggle, and we are heartened that you are with us in this service to Jesus Christ. It is only with Him, that we will find true redemption and happiness.

“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)
