Our Issues
♦ We believe life is sacred and should be protected at every opportunity. We believe from the moment of fertilization to the moment of natural death, human life is intrinsically and eternally significant. We believe that comfort, cost, convenience, mental capacity, or the inability to comply with societal expectations of what people should be able to do is never a justification for terminating a life that would otherwise continue to live. RESOURCES
♦ The Family Policy Institute of Washington believes marriage is the most significant relationship in existence. We believe life-long, heterosexual, monogamous marriages provide unique benefits to children and society that cannot be matched by any other relationship. As a result, we believe marriage should always be defined as a union of one man and one woman and that marriage should be promoted and preferred above other relationships while recognizing the right of individuals to live freely outside the institution of marriage. ♦ The FPIW believes that both the
responsibility and the authority for raising children rest primarily
with their biological or adoptive parents. Government should empower
parents to control the upbringing of their children and minimize its
interference with the exercise of parental authority, except in cases of
demonstrable abuse or neglect. RESOURCES
♦ The
Family Policy Institute of WA (FPIW) believes that religious observance
and faith in God have an overwhelmingly positive impact on society.
Just as marriage has a foundational effect on the flourishing of family
life, religious observance has a similar effect on community and
national life. The fostering of religious observance within a framework
of religious freedom is a hallmark of our culture as shaped by our
Founding Fathers. In the United States, the Judeo-Christian worldview
has provided a sound basis for the flourishing of our national culture
and our political system. The FPIW, in the tradition of our Founding
Fathers, works to encourage the free worship of God as a great good for
individuals, couples, families, communities and the nation. RESOURCES
