About Yesivote:

With only 8% of Christians voting in the 2006 elections in WA State, Yesivote is dedicated to registering, motivating and educating 100,000 church-goers in WA State. Yesivote is comprised of a team of community volunteers who share the common principles that guide our operation. We intend to spread the message of family values and ethical responsibility to residents all across WA State. Yesivote is a project of the Family Policy Institute of Washington.

How we are working to accomplish our goal:

We have specially designed a voter display case with registration forms, civic engagement materials and legislative information that are being sent out free of charge to churches, schools, businesses and community clubs all across the state. Understanding that pastors are already very busy with ministry-related ventures, we ask for a volunteer to serve as church coordinator for their local fellowship.

This volunteer position authorizes an individual to take ownership of the political process by empowering them to educate, motivate and register others in their local church. The coordinator would ensure that every member of their church has the opportunity to register to vote while being educated about the family issues that affect us all. By working with volunteer coordinators from churches across WA State we expect to reach our goal of 100,000 newly registered values voters.

How we are doing on achieving our goal:

Since the beginning of our efforts in April of 2004, we have distributed thousands of voter registration display cases, free of charge, in the State of Washington. Along with those displays we have distributed over 100,000 voter registration forms. Currently our legislative update, which mobilizes the masses to contact their elected officials regarding family values, is emailed to over 4,000 people across WA State.

In addition, hundreds of volunteers from Bellingham, the Tri-Cities, Vancouver, Yakima, Wenatchee, Spokane and Seattle have given out thousands of forms and spent thousands of hours spreading the message of family values to their communities. We continue to make displays available free of charge to socially sensible organizations and encourage voter registration throughout Washington State. With your help we will register another 100,000 voters in WA State this election year.
