HB2424 - Why this View Child Porn Bill is significant? - Current law makes it a crime to possess (digital or print) child pornography, but not those who store and/or view them on the internet. This bill will hold those who store child porn on the internet and view them criminally liable by using computer forensic evidence. Don't worry about accidental pop-up as the language of the law is very specific and requires high scrutiny of intentional viewing to establish evidence for even prosecution.
Besides, minor sex trafficking victims are constantly bought and sold on the internet. This bill will hold "johns" who attempt to do so criminally liable for even viewing them online. Of course, this bill is not intended for this purpose, but it will impose another charge on johns and pimps.
